A large-scale International Conference "Odessa Debate: Unification of Ukraine, the Black Sea Region and Transatlantic Partners" opened in Odessa on the 1st of March.
The forum was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the German Marshall Fund (USA). The Boumbouras Foundation Charitable Organization and Gefest construction company was the general sponsor.
“Ukraine follows the European course of development with the support of transatlantic partners,” said Panteleimon Boumbouras.
According to Panteleimon Boumbouras, head of the Boumbouras Foundation, the idea of holding the Forum appeared in the autumn of 2018 on the opening day of the Greek Park with the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavel Klimkin.
We decided to hold this grandiose meeting in Odessa not coincidentally.
This city has always been home to people of different nationalities, cultures and religions. And they always found a common language.
Ukraine is no more that country it was 5 years ago. It is getting closer and closer to its course towards Europe and its transatlantic partners. Our achievements are commendable, and we are moving forward thanks to the general support,” said Panteleimon Boumbouras.
The conference was attended by ministers and diplomats of the United States, Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania, Belgium, Poland, as well as representatives of the state law enforcement agencies of Ukraine and the United States. The Ukrainian side was represented by Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin.
There are US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State George Kent, Head of the Ukraine Support Group at the European Commission Peter Wagner, Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Vakhtang Makharoblishvili among the honored guests.
